Writing Progress Log : W/E 2nd October 2026

While this week has been productive, it hasn’t resulted in any new words on either A Ring of Roses, or MMS Book 2. Amanda had a lot of chapters in her folder to edit but she had been delayed because of deadlines in her day job, but she began to catch up this week and handed me a large batch of edited chapters. I spent a fair amount of time going through her edits and changes and applying them to the master document.

Also, for MMS Book 1, we received our developmental edit report from the publisher which contained their suggestions to make—what was already a very strong book in their opinion—the manuscript even better. I spent the first half of the week going through their document and thinking about any changes we might want to make. We then drew up a plan ready for a meeting to discuss it all. Once we had gone through any changes, we got on with implementing them. I (Steve) spent most of the weekend finishing these changes and they are all complete, so I now need to read the book again from the start to make sure everything still hangs together. We have until the 19th to complete this, so I will spread the read-through out over the next week or so while continuing work on A Ring of Roses and MMS Book 2.

We did discuss a release window, with the publisher, for MMS Book 1 and we are looking around end of Feb to Early March, but that’s not set in stone yet. They are planning on announcing the book in early November, so that’s when I can finally talk about it properly.
