Writing Progress Log : W/E 14th August 2026

This week has been primarily about getting MMS Book 1 ready to send to the publisher. We completed our first revision/edit pass, as we also performed an in-depth technical pass using the tool ProWritingAid, where we did a complete grammar and style report pass, as well as using the echoes and repeats tools. These two passes have left the manuscript in a good state. Now we are going to not touch it for the next week before doing a final read-through before submitting to the publisher.

For Bookshop Mysteries 7 - A Ring of Roses, we wrote two chapters (15 and 16) totalling 3140 words. While this isn’t a huge amount, they were very important chapters to the story so required a fair amount of work. Next week we plan to work one on A Ring of Roses to push the story into it’s second major phase.
